Urban Panthers Rescue – Veterinary Disclaimer & Liability Waiver

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE RECEIVING ASSISTANCE OR SERVICES

This Acknowledgement, Disclaimer, and Release of Liability ("Agreement") is entered into by the undersigned individual ("Participant") in favor of Urban Panthers Rescue (UPR), its officers, directors, employees, agents, contractors, and volunteers.

1. No Veterinary Status

I acknowledge and understand that Urban Panthers Rescue is NOT a licensed veterinary clinic and does not provide veterinary medical services. Any assistance, guidance, handling, trapping, transport, basic care, medical supply use, or emergency support provided by Urban Panthers Rescue is performed solely by volunteers who are not acting as licensed veterinarians unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing.

2. Volunteer-Based Assistance

I understand that all services provided by Urban Panthers Rescue are:

• Performed by volunteers,

• Offered in good faith,

• Based on experience, training, and best judgment available at the time,

• Provided without guarantee of outcome.

Urban Panthers Rescue does not diagnose, prescribe, or replace professional veterinary care.

3. Assumption of Risk

I acknowledge that working with, handling, transporting, or caring for animals—particularly injured, ill, feral, frightened, or unsocialized animals—involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

• Bites, scratches, or other injuries,

• Transmission of zoonotic diseases,

• Worsening of an animal’s condition,

• Emotional distress or property damage.

I voluntarily assume all risks, known and unknown, associated with receiving assistance or participating in any activity involving Urban Panthers Rescue.

4. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless Urban Panthers Rescue, including its employees, officers, directors, and volunteers, from any and all claims, demands, actions, damages, losses, or liabilities arising out of or related to:

• Any assistance or services provided,

• Decisions made by volunteers,

• The condition, treatment, or outcome of any animal,

• My participation in or reliance on information or support provided by Urban Panthers Rescue.

This release applies to claims arising from negligence or ordinary care, but does not apply to gross negligence or willful misconduct where prohibited by law.

5. No Guarantee of Outcome

I understand and agree that Urban Panthers Rescue makes no guarantees regarding:

• The health, survival, behavior, or recovery of any animal,

• Availability of resources, placement, or continued assistance.

6. Responsibility for Veterinary Care

I acknowledge that I am solely responsible for seeking and obtaining licensed veterinary care for any animal when needed. Any referral or suggestion to a veterinary clinic is not an endorsement or assurance of outcome.

7. Indemnification

I agree to indemnify and defend Urban Panthers Rescue against any claims, losses, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from my actions, omissions, or violation of this Agreement.

8. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the state in which Urban Panthers Rescue operates.

9. Acknowledgement & Consent

By signing below, I confirm that:

• I have read and understood this Agreement in its entirety,

• I am signing voluntarily and without coercion,

• I agree to be legally bound by its terms.
